It worked fine for the old Bolens 1971. I created a z curve with needle nose pliers, but z pliers work much better. I bought the mark 9 hook and work really well. I recommend the retention clip loop style, I bought them locally at a dealer/repair tractor sales. the original ones that came with the tractor had crimped the pipe and was the main cause that needed to be replaced.
